NTT Docomo says Xperia 1 supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby vision, is it true?

I contacted NTT Docomo via email and they confirmed Xperia 1 is compatible with Dolby vision.

@ds2mph;

It's not NTT Docomo you should contact to clarify the question but Sony Mobile or Dolby.

I also emailed  Dolby and Sony mobile US,UK,Hong Kong, Taiwan but I haven't received any replies from them yet.

I checked the specified Japanese manual, it doesn't mention Dolby vision, just Dolby Atmos for sound.

I guess the support confused these two.

Of course the processor might be able to include a Dolby module to process the 12 bit DV Signals, but the display is a 8+2 , so virtual 10bit display.

I got a reply from Sony mobile Hong Kong. According to them, maybe only SO-03L(Docomo) Xperia 1 is compatible with Dolby vision while others(J8110,J9110) notPensive_Face

well...

i got reply from Sony Germany today, they contacted the Sony technical department and got back to me with this answer:

"Just some Dolby Vision Profiles support 12bit Color Depth, other (DV) Profiles support 10bit or even 8bit, but it depends on how the DV Signal is delivered and decoded."

so: DV Profiles can "support" 8bit, 10bit or 12 bit signals that get to the display.

this was also a reply to my question how a 10bit Sony HDR TV (XF90 / X900F) can display a 12bit Dolby Vision Signal and how it can be licensed and certified as a Dolby Vision TV and support DV in netflix as Dolby states 12bit for Dolby Vision. Obviously the Dolby Vision Signal from netflix is supporting a device specific and certified 10bit DV signal for this specific device display.

this tells me, that the Xperia One should be able to support Dolby Vision Profiles, not 12 bit, but 10 bit DV Profiles that produce a 10bit Signal for the 10bit Xperia One Display, but it did not get certified with a specific device profile for DV from Dolby yet.

maybe they did already in asia / japan, and they have an updated firmware already, as this is always the case with japanese products. asia gets it 6 months before europe.
