New VGC-LV1S Blu Ray Drive not recognised

On setting up new model, Vista does not recognise the Optical Drive. It is not listed in Computer or in Device Manager. Any help much appreciated.

welcome to Club VAIO..

Right Click on the Computer desktop icon and select Properties..

In the new System window Click on Device Manager..

Click Continue on the Use Account Window..

Do you have a unknown devices listed.?

Hi Bet,

as your VAIO's new try running the Vaio recovery utility and restore your VAIO back to factory settings, if this does not solve your problem then I suggest you contact the retailer and exchange your LV1S for another one..

Hi Thalamus - thanks for your further advice. I started up computer 2 hours ago - must be the 5th start from new - and the drive was recognised! Now created Recovery Discs to prove it works ok. Good to know there are VAIO friends out there. Thanks again. BET
