My laptop turns itself off if I move it and also takes 2/3 attempts for windows to start up from turning on

When I turn on my laptop it can take quite a few attempts for the disc light to appear and windows to load. Sometimes while windows starts the laptop will turn itself off and back on again.

Also if I move the laptop it turns itself off.

Just wondering what the likelyhood of the issue could be is it harddrive or a loose connection somewhere?

It does sound like a poor connection which is triggered by movement.  It could be a wiring issue or a motherboard problem.

However, something like this can be difficult to identify - certainly, an engineer will need to look inside.

What model Vaio do you have and is it still within Warranty?
