camera charging issues

I have a sony DSC TX 5 digital camera and a sony Cyber-shot charger from another camera I own. i can connect my DSC TX5 to the computer no problem but the battery wont charge, do i need a specific charger? i have purchased a new battery but the problem occurs with both/

Please help

Hello Stephen - Welcome to the Sony Forums :slight_smile:

With some devices, plugging them into a computer via USB doesn't generate enough power to charge the battery - it will only provide enough in order to maintain a link to transfer data. You could try attaching to a different USB socket to see if the power is higher elsewhere.

Alternatively, you will need to purchase another charger for your DSC TX5. There are various options available - both official and 'compatible' (the latter shouldn't set you back more than £20). If you Google 'DSC-TX5 charger' you will see the range available.

The charger BC-CSN is included when buying the TX5.

I do not know whether it is possible at all to charge battery inside camera cia USB connection
