Z5 Camera - Blue tint on edges of low light photos

I have noticed in low-light photos, in both Superior Auto and Manual mode that there is a blue tint on the edges of low light photos, especially more on the left side. The only way I've noticed I can really mitigate it is if I lower the ISO on manual mode, but then the photos would end up being too dark.

I have seen this issue discussed on other forums; some say it is a hardware issue, some software, and others say a camera module replacement may fix it. But I don't think Sony has officially ever acknowledged this issue, even though it is definitely present.

Here are some example photos

Notice the heavy blue tinting on the edges..

Hello dear friends
I have the same problem with my Z5 Premium too
But I think I just found the way you can get rid of it in low light! So simple: head to manual mode the in the SCN section make sure the "night scene" mode is selected and boom!!! No blue noises any more! They are gone and so beautiful photo you have here!

1) Superior Auto mode with Blue Noise at the darker areas and poor sharpnes and color accuracy:

2) in Manual mode with night scene activated with very nice color accuracy and sharpness and NO BLUE NOISE!

Very bad I never got an answer by Sony at regard of this bad point

However, these of us are all workarounds to circumnavigate around this bad behaviour of this fantastic camera !!!

I erased some link because in few days we're having 6.0 and there could be two streets again :

Or I'm doing a new WORLD CASE, documenting more and more and more things or simply

BEING HAPPY if they solved ...

But I think that I'll be coming back to write about these things unless I'll sell it.

this is an ugly problem with high ISO / white balance and a temporary solution, as you've observed, is to use manual mode that ISO is decreased. Hope to be solved on 6.0 update... The same happens on video recording. Black is deep blue and its really ugly.

Marshmallow has literally no impact on the camera performance, Sony would have to do that themselves but knowing them they probably won't improve the rubbish camera performance and software. I was looking on the Z5 marshmallow update list and it had nothing on camera performance improvements.
Guess we are stuck with this horrible camera software until Sony decide to wake up and realise just how dogsh't the camera performs especially in low light.

Well said RAZORIG2

Very soon I'm coming back here with dedicated samples about it and everyday I'm writing here to see if something could be moved unless they won't do something at regard because this bad situation is becoming literaly TERRIFYING and RIDICOLOUS

Yes it's a sad case indeed, funny how the Sony forum employers reply on every other post EXCEPT camera performance posts. There is something 100% fishy with Sony in regards to all the problems with the Z5 camera, either they are not willing to admit/fix the problem and are hoping to divert the attention a few months time to the release of the Z6.

This is extremely unprofessional behaviour from their behalf and the fact that there hasn't been an official response since the phones release, I could only imagine Sony are just cowering away and hope to slide this major problem under the carpet. I'll keep posting as well until they finally acknowledge just how big the problem is and work on an update to fix this issue.

Those won't every give us an answer about this

They don't want, in no case, answer to this !

Are just me & you and no one is interested in this thing but in low light photo we have to keep blue in our photo !

And when u see into the stadium, the AD commercial about "Z5 The World's best camera in a smartphone" u start to laugh unless don't stop ...

Lol the claim from Sony having the world's best camera in a smartphone is the biggest laugh played on us consumers. I guess I will never buy a Sony phone again after the deceptive lying advertising and claims of such a powerful camera phone.
Though I spent so much money on the Z5, it's still infuriating to know that I paid for a crippled device, even after the so called repair they did, made no difference what so ever to the bogus camera performance. Sony should wake the F up and fix the problem already!!
