I tried updating my phone via pcc but battery got juiced up and phone might got switched off during the update process. Couldn't charge my phone to resume the update as the phone keeping looping with the Sony logo followed by message saying software update failed screen.
I read couple of posts related to same issues, where it is advised to first use Power Button + Vol Up combination to turn off the phone then charge. Unfortunately this is not working in my case, on pressing them phone shuts down but starts again while charging and I am not able to charge."
I have exactely the same issue but SUS no longer exists. Anybody has a solution? I let my phone charging while 10h and tried to enforce stop with power+vol Up, restart and plug to PCC but no way, it doesn't work....
Thank you in advance !
Solved! Go to Solution.
Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds or untill you feel 3 vibrations)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Hello here,
I tried your solution many times last night but it didn't work. Today, I let my xperia charging all day and this evening I tested it again but without result.
I spotted that it's recommended to not use other usb device during the update so I disconnected my audio devices and my external disk. After that, I unpluged the sony wire and plug it in another USB slot. I connected my phone, holding volume down button pressed, and Windows reconize a new device, install the driver and the update started normally !! YEAH !
Just notice that I allowed PCC in the windows firewall before.
Thank you for your help and have a nice day!
