I stumbled upon the forum whilst looking for a solution to my phone issues.
This morning, as I got up my phone was working, I checked my emails etc and all was fine. Then when I came to use it later on it would not turn on. I initially pressed the power button and had a little spanner and screwdriver icon on the phone but that disappeared and it's been dead since.
I've followed the suggestion of using the Xperia Companion but the PC doesn't recognise the phone as I get the following error message "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it"
I get as far as the Software repair stage but nothing happens when I press the volume down key and connect it.
I've tried using the off button in the memory card slot, pressing the up volume key and power button and the 120-second reset to no avail.
Can anyone tell me if it's likely my phone is deader than a dodo, or if there is a slim chance it may have life it in yet? Or have any suggestions?
I'd greatly appreciate any advice as I need the phone for work and will be pretty screwed without it.
