Xperia Z2 - Phantom or Ghost email

About 2 weeks after I purchased the Z2 - I hav eencountered an annoying "feature".

The mail icon will notify that there are 14 emails - there are 13.  I can read, delete, etc and when the folder is empty, there is still a notification that there is 1 email remaining, and yet the folder will display the message "No Mail".  I have checked, the drafts, sent, outbox - nothing remaining.

I have deleted the account and re-established it - no difference

I have deleted and re-established the mail account that it is updating from - no difference.

It really is a phantom email, that can't be seen, can't be read, can't be deleted, but registers on the counter.

Any ideas?

There's an E-mail you've omitted scroll further to find the email you haven't read yet

HI,

Are you refering to the android default email app?

If thats the case, try to clear data for the email app and resetup the email address and monitor the situation and get back to us.

As for gmail app. try to clear data and remove your gmail, then re-signin and sync again to see if resolve.

yes there is sometimes a lag in non-google email app, for others than gmail. I had that too when i was cleaning spam and adverts without opening them the number of emails unread was still on the icon, it went clean everytime after reset. Now with .314 the problem didn't occur yet, so I guess it's solved.

Thanks, this didn't address the problem - there are no "unread" items in any of the folders.

Thanks for the suggestion, this did not resolve the problem and had been tried before posting.

Thanks, this did not resolve the problem, here are no unread emails, and there is the active text "no mails" in each of the folders.
