VPN L2TP not working // Android 4.4.3

My vpn connection doesn't work.

Setup is: L2TP/IPSec with PSK to my private network.

Since my old device (Xperia S), which is on android 4.3.X, is still working
I don't see any configuration problems, but I guess that this is a problem with android 4.4.X

The same problem occurs on my sony tablet z since the update to 4.4.X

Is there any fix from sony?

I read about a google fix, which should be in place on version 4.4.4, but the update to 4.4.4 on the
tablet does not solve this issue.

Sorry Richard, I found a workaround and never returned to the forum. Do you still want a pm with data? Ipsec VPN still doesn't work on the z2 tablet.

@xmacewin- I bought vpncilla, was the only way to have ipsec VPN working.

Yes, that would be great. There's no known issue with VPN so to forward this for further investigation i need more information.

We got a test account from another user with this issue and have found the cause of this. It will be fixed in an upcoming software update.

This has been solved in a software update for Xperia™ Z2, Xperia™ Z2 Tablet, Xperia™ Z3, and Xperia™ Z3 Tablet Compact. For those devices, you can fix the issue by updating your device to the software version 23.4.A.1.200 or later.
For the Xperia™ Z1, you will be able to fix it when the upcoming software version 14.6.A.1.210 is released. For Xperia™ Z3+ and Xperia™ Z5 devices, work is ongoing to include a fix in upcoming software updates.
When you have updated the software, you can add the VPN L2TP IPSec in your device.

To add the virtual private network (VPN) L2TP IPSec

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Settings > More… > VPN. You may be prompted to enter password for credential storage before creating a VPN network.
  3. Tap the plus icon.
  4. To display more options, mark the Show advanced options checkbox.
  5. Select the type of VPN to add: “L2TP/IPSec PSK 96bit”.
  6. Enter your VPN settings.
  7. Tap Save.

I just ran into this issue on my tablet also, and I see it is fixed or will be fixed on a number of devices. But will this also be fixed for the Xperia Tablet Z (SGP311)? Because I assume with the line:

For the Xperia™ Z1, you will be able to fix it when the upcoming software version 14.6.A.1.210 is released

you mean the phone. My tablet is on 10.7.A.0.222. Will there also be an update for my device?
