After having a constant black screen ( possibly due to what seem the backlight not working?) but the phone working (receiving calls ect.) I have tried to comple the system repair using the Xperia Companion. However, in the steps below, I cannot progress after step 4. The device is connecting and being reccognised but even after half an hour the application has not processed to another screen. Does this mean the repair has not worked? If so what can I do to get it to process as I need to clear the data to send the phone off.
Steps:
1. Make sure your device is disconnected from the computer.
2. Turn off your device and wait 5 seconds.
3. Press and hold the volume down key on your device.
4. Connect the device to the computer while still holding the key.
5. Wait until the application automatically proceeds to the next step.
