Hi All,
I'm justing speaking to Sony support raising the issue I am experiencing with mobile network disconnections when my Z5 is in standby (probably 5 minutes or so after going into stand by the mobile network connection drops), but only since upgrading to MM.
The web support people are following their script and true to form ask me to perform a repair install. The last time I went through this malaky was when there was a known issue with the messaging application when large numbers of messages were stored on the phone (I'm sure we all remember that one), but Sony's support teams had not received the "knowledge".
I am on a MVNO in Australia with a Z5.
I'd like to know whether other Z5/Z5C/Z5P users's who have upgraded to MM are experiencing the same issues, and whether they are on MVNO networks, or not.
For those user's, it would be of interest to note whether they have noticed a fast er battery drain than when they have Lollipop installed.
If anyone has the issue described above, has it been recognised with their local Sony support and/or have you been able to resolve the issue?
It might actually be worth my while (lost time and productivity not withstanding) to go back to Lollipop with Stamina and almost 2 days of charge, and wait for the next version released by Sony.
Thoughts?
@Sam
Web support got me to try the same thing, and I must confess that the few times I have tested since I made the chage I have not been able to "go straight to voicemail".
I'm continuing to try to not touch my phone and find time from work to test dial my phone.
As you are the second person to suggest this, are there suspicions?
I'll let you guess when I switched from LTE preferred to WCDMA preferred. You can see the difference in the mobile network signal too. Much more stable!
There has to be a bug somewhere for that to be so apparent. My guess also (from own experience and reading other people's threads) is that there is something up with bluetooth as well.
This is happening to me as well on my Xperia Z5 ( standard edition)
I live in AU and I use a single Amaysim sim card. Like the others, this happens several times a day and the only way to fix it is power cycling the phone. I do not use any peripherals besides a standard audio headset for music.
A while ago my smartconnect also stopped functioning for no aparent reason, no obvious update I could tell that caused it. Currently only able to switch from phone to headphone audio with 3Rd party app. Only able to access phone data via wifi now.
Unless there's a fix for both tomorrow I might have to return my phone under warranty which expires next week. It's currently not fit for purpose.
Hi to all,
Not to bother, but i had a simillar issue with loosing network and i was happy to know that the problems was with actually with the sim card from the MVNO and not the phone, after cycling with three cards and holding on to the third i have a stable conection - because not all sim cards are made by the same vendor i guess this was the problem, also to note i had a simmilar problem with a regular sim from a regular operator but the problem there was actually consisting with two issues 1 i had left a small fingerprint on the card and 2 it was a bit woobly after cleaning the card an reseating it i had no problems idk if you tried this, this is just my experience
