Making VOIP vs standard calls

Hi,

I have VOIP account and at some point in the past have set my phone up to ask me if I want to make a mobile phone call or internet call whenever I try to make any call.

Now I can't remember how to switch this off!

I hope someone can help.

I'm on the latest Android 4.4.4.

Thanks.

Yes, you need to change that setting in that case.
If you want to use SIP by default you should select "Use SIP with network access" instead. With that setting it will use the SIP account if you have an internet connection.

You can set this under Settings -> Call settings -> Use Internet calling.

Rickard, thanks! I have it set to "Always Ask". I'm not clear though which of the other two options I should choose, so that the phone always makes a normal call, without prompting me. The other two choices are"Use SIP with network access" and "Only to SIP address". Neither of those two make that much sense to me. Also, if I change it from "Always ask" so it always defaults to making a normal call, how can I make VoIP calls then?

You should set it to "Only to SIP address" in that case. With this setting it will only use SIP if you dial a SIP address. If you want to use SIP for a standard number you will need to change this setting again.

Thanks Rickard,

I don't have any specific SIP addresses, I only use VoIP to call some normal numbers. So if I switch it to the setting you're suggesting, the only way to make VoIP calls to those numbers will be to switch back to Always Ask?
