Contact snapchat devs as it's up to them to fix the issue

Using the regular camera (without an app) works fine?

That's an app issue, it has to be addressed by the app developer.

Umm, from what I know, even from other phones than Sony, front camera usually takes inverted images. I dunno if that's because it's intended to be used as a mirror, but on every phone I've ever used the front camera takes mirror-like photos.

If you wanna fix that, just edit your photos with any photo editor. Your Xperia Z3 comes with a photo editor that you can use to vertically invert photos.

It's not an app issue @uniwooly
The front camera even using the stock camera app produces a mirrored photo. It's quite annoying. And
@quester the stock photo editor is Unable to flip the photo only rotate.

Both stock Photo Editor and Pixlr can flip photos vertically, I'm sure about it.
