Z5 E6603 on T-Mobile USA running 32.3.A.2.33
Last week, I rebooted my phone and got the dialog box about applying carrier settings. After the settings were applied and the phone automatically rebooted, I found that the visual voicemail tab was gone from the dialer.
Voice mail settings in Call->Voicemail is unchanged from before:
Voicemail service: My service provider
Voicemail settings: Settings for My service provider
Visual Voicemail: On
I contacted T-Mobile and they said nothing has changed in my account settings. The voicemail tab has been there since last year, IIRC.

So, I know it's been 2 months and I'm not sure if you guys have found a work around. HOWEVER, if you haven't I found this loophole that makes it come back and works fine (for me).
Hope that this works for you as well as it worked for me.
I'm having this same issue after applying the update to build 32.3.A.2.33 last week. I only just got the Voicemail tab about a month ago, when the Nougat update finally rolled out to my phone. My carrier is Ting, but otherwise, my settings are identical to the OP's. This is incredibly frustrating.
Another bit of relevant data: When I have a new voicemail, I get a notification in the bar at the top of my screen. Tapping on that notification opens the Phone app, but otherwise does nothing. I have to manually dial my voicemail number (or press and hold "1" to call it) in order to get to my messages.
I have tried:
- Resetting my Voicemail number
- Toggling Visual Voicemail on and off
just chiming in to say same issue on T-Mobile (U.S.).
extremely annoying
Same symptoms here. Z5c on T-Mobile, running the newest Nougat update from Sony.
Visual voicemail tab has disappeared from the phone dialer.
I have posted this before on other threads, but has anyone gotten a fix for the missing visual voicemail tab that got deleted after the 32.3.A.2.33 update? (on T-Mobile) Sony keeps telling me to download the T-Mobile visual voicemail app (which I never needed before the update) and I don't want to install it anyway. Sony keep saying it's a T-Mobile issue, but I doubt that cause I had it working perfrectly before the update. Plus since T-Mobile doesnt support this phone, they are no help at all. I'm extremely annoyed

Thank you! It worked perfectly.
One issue I ran into, possibly unrelated. I installed the T-Mobile VVM app after that and it couldn't activate until I turned off VVM in the Calls settings. After the T-Mobile app completed setup, I re-enabled VVM in Calls and everything was fine.
Edit: FYI, this issue still happens on Android 7.1.1 with 32.4.A.0.160.
Xperia model F5321, running 34.3.A.0.194 and 7.1.1. T-Mobile USA is the carrier.
Lost the native visual voicemail pane in the phone app -- around the time T-Mobile pushed out 7.1.1, a few weeks ago.
Am extremely discontent with this. I want to have that native visual voicemail pane/function restored.
I contacted my wireless carrier (T-Mobile USA) several times, received no recognition of the issue.
I contacted Xperia customer support, they eventually indicated that the updated software packages must have eliminated support for this function. I was advised that I might receive help here.
We need to get this function back. Thanks for any/all help.
EDIT -- I don't consider this "SOLVED" since we do not have an Answering Machine function on this OS ... that (Answering Machine) was obsoleted previously. We do have native Visual Voicemail ... which has become recently broken and its interface has vanished.
