hi lady's and gents ive been tring to find a way to remove the time/date stamp from screen shots ? ive tried everything i can think of , any help would be great
Hi @TheRealDogss, welcome to our forum!
Do you mean the time and date stamp in the file name? There is no setting to change the default name of the file that is created when you have take a screenshot using either the power menu, or the power button and volume down.
There may be applications in the Google Play store that will take a screenshot and create them with a different file name, but if you want to use the inbuilt feature, you will need to edit the file name and to do that, follow the instructions below.
Go to Settings > Storage > Files > Pictures > Screenshots > tap and hold on the picture that you want to rename, so it gets highlighted > tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Rename > choose the name you want it to have.
I hope that helps!
thank you very much for getting back to me , and the info was very helpful , the problem i have is when i take a screen shot and then post that screen shot anywhere on the bottom of the picture it shows in text time and date it was taken , can i remove this or just stop it being posted along with the picture ?
many thanks
Where do you post the screenshot then? Maybe this site is automatically adding this timestamp to any upload.
I can't recreate this issue, there is no timestamp posted along with the screenshot.
@TheRealDogss, That sounds like the website is deciding to use the date and time stamp from the screenshot when you publish it as @skycamefalling wrote.
Is it the same if you upload a screenshot here on our Support forum or if you send it to yourself as a MMS?
Keep us posted!
