Hi everyone,
I cant access my device after updating, my usual unlock pattern is stated as 'incorrect pattern'. And i have to unlock the pattern to get all data and features. Already tried restarting the phone several times, phone call and press back, google find your devices, but nothing seems to work. I don't want to lose my data, anybody knows what to do?
Regards,
Leo
Sorry for the late respond. I found this for a Pixcel C. You have to delete this files:
rm /data/system/locksettings.db
rm /data/system/locksettings.db-wal
rm /data/system/locksettings.db-shm
I can not guarantee that this works and this files are available. I found somewhere nearly the same. Maybe there are files with nearly the same name.
Good luck for everybody! Hope this helps you.
Thanks. Looks like it requires TWRP. I'll give it a try anyway later today.
Didn't work for me. Permission denied.
Hi everyone, on Friday i have done a fresh install of Android 9 and i have to say, there's not one problem with it
No lock screen problems
No camera problems
From 22:00 to 6:00 only 5 % from battery drained so there's no fast battery draining
Also the GPS work's with no problems and auto brightness too.
For everyone who has problems with android 9,do a fresh install and there will be no problems, after all, it is highly recommended to do it, when there's is a major update, like this, from Android Oreo to Pie.
Give Sony a break people, think of it just how fast we are able to install Android Pie on our phones 😉

Hi There,
I think you're missing the point here. The problems occured when we were UPDATING to android pie. 3 hours after i started this thread, i am too impatient to wait for a solution, also i don't have backup phones, and i am under a lot of deadlines, so i use xperia assistant to repair the software or as you said "Fresh Install' because i really need to use my phone. As a result i lost some of my photos, videos and saved data. And although i enjoy the upgrade in android pie, i am really disappointed with sony and this problem. I'm one of the people that excited for the upgrade, sadly it became my loss instead. It hurts my trust and loyalty to sony, so i backup my phone frequently since then.
Regards,
Leo
Yeah ,it's really bad and annoying if you update to a higher version and it has lot of bug'sor not working at all , but i know it's always better to do a fresh install when it comes to a major update like this i did a backup then installed it and no problems my point is, that everybody should know that is better to do it in updates like this.
Best regards.
Sure, I could do a fresh install too. But if that's what it takes then Sony should warn people about it and perhaps don't let people do a normal upgrade at all if it's so prone to mess things up. I'm still waiting for a solution and while waiting I have to use an old iPhone
BUY ANOTHER BRAND. Sony did not give answers to me. I have NOT updated - I simply asked via chat what they were going to do about the problems with Android 9. No answer. Looks like they've stopped the update. IT ALSO MEANS PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT HAD THE UPDATE - HAVE NOT HAD A SECURITY UPDATE SINCE SEPTEMBER!! 💥 Apalling behaviour from a major brand. Hello cheap alternatives.
Sony managers are filthy shisters.... Today, 7 months after this bug was identified (which is back in Novemeber of 2018) they are still rolling out the android 9 update without warning customers! This is unbelievable! This same problem just happened to me tonight. After waiting for 8 months for the update to come to my XA2 I finally got the option to update only today and tried just 30 minutes ago!! The update process even states that you should not need to backup software during this process.
What can I say but Sony are filthy scum! Lost a lot of data on my internal memory if there is no way to reset my pin. Not buying Sony again, buying from your competition which Sony can't keep up with anyway! They can go to.
To the morons in Sony management, this is how you loose customers and screw your brand you penny pinching shister A holes!!!!
