omg that digital noise its too much way too much digital noise
im highly upset because i bought the phone for its advertised camera - turned out to be a desaster-camera and i cant give the phone back! the camera is messed up on the xz.
Why are Sony folks not responding? Are they atleast looking at the thread? Just wondering, if something could be done as a Software update. Atleast there should be a toggle for Post-processing to be done or not!
We are waiting for a statement from Sony regarding underwhelming camera performance since the Z1's times.
I would love to know if Sony really thinks that the camera is good or if they are merely trying to keep this marketing lie alive.
Sony is reading this forum as there are answers from Sony staff - I´m pretty sure they do not overlook a thread with so many replies like this one. Sony why don´t you give a statement on this camera issue?
I agree with some points. ZX has better colors reproduction than nokia, better not oversaturated reds as seen in real life. Might have a little detail issues in far scapes, but it's smartphone. In this categories it's better than digital compacts from markets, shocking good. For that last example, you have to be blind not to see the photo was retouched manually and taken with shaky hand. My grandpa would take better and sharper photo than this xperia anti-fan.
like i said before its sonys fault they ignored OIS since z3 the tech was available from that time but sony just said NO and used their bad digital stabilization and its plagued the xz too that extreme grain is produced by sonys heavy digital stability
Hello, same problem on my X Compact, it doesn't focus well in macro (Auto or Manual mode) so I move back a little and use the zoom (1,5x is usually enough and the quality is still good)
As for the grainy photos that everybody cares about, maybe Sony should do something but at 8 MegaPixels they aren't grainy (except when it's darker, of course)... but take your photos at 23 MegaPixels and reduce their size to the same as others smartphones, same size as a 13 or 16 MegaPixels, for example and pictures will be better... or try resizing a photo taken with a Galaxy S7 to the same size of the ones taken whith the XZ... they will be blurry.
I think that Sony should work on finding a middle ground, less grainy but still good size / quality
