Z3c fell into water 15cm/5 secs = dead!

Hi

My 1.5 year old Z3c fall into water 15cm deep for 5 secs before I took it. Result : it is dead!

How can that be? It's supposed to be waterproof, last year it fell into 1m deep sea water and nothing happened!

I tried the "rice drying" technique for 2 days but no it won't help....

It is not in warranty anymore (1 year I suppose) but would Sony consider do something about it?

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that but if there is/was physical damage to the phone and/or if the covers weren't firmly closed then water could permeate, how to know for sure, contact your Local support and request a vacuum test, it will prove who is at fault.

It was not physically damaged since I always used a protective cover but after water got in now the back of the phone started to "open" (I'm pretty sure that's it because of moist, it had never been the case before) and it is obviously not sealed anymore... I guess the local support is going to say it's my fault then, how can I proove that...

Quite a big desilusion regarding so called waterproof product, and also so expensive...

if the back cover started to open then you should've stopped by your Local support then, perhaps you never noticed since you had a protective cover, I'm sorry to say this but there's nothing we can suggest here.
