Z3 restarting while receiving or making a call

Hello all,

my Z3 is restarting while receiving or making a call but not every time. What seems to be a problem?

Usually, the SIM card can create this kind of issue. Can you try with another?

Hi Srda83,

Welcome to the community,

I agree with @alexdon on this, this issue may very well be the SIM card, however this can also be related to Virus scanners and Task killer apps. Make sure to check  all these sections out as well.

I had exactly the same problem with my Z3. The phone rebooted itself when answering a call or making a call myself. This happened approximately once in every five calls. Sometimes it might happen two calls in a row, sometimes I could receive 10 calls without a hitch. This was becoming extremely annoying, especially since the call left nothing in the call log, so whenever someone not in my phonebook tried to call me, it was up to me to try to remember the number, they had called from...

I tried pretty much everything I could think of: two factory resets, two firmware updates, two SIM cards, formatted the SD card, removed the SD card. After the second factory reset, I didn't install any apps either, but the problem remained.

Having worked in mobile phone sales before, I wasn't too excited about the idea of sending the phone to service, since the problem was something, that happened randomly and was something they might not be able to duplicate there. So it would probably have been just sent back to me with a factory reset and a message saying no problems found.

Having read the comments about this maybe having something to do with the SIM card being loose, as a last resort before sending the phone away I cut a little piece of paper and placed it behind the SIM card. It's been two weeks since and I haven't had a single reboot... A rather simple and cheap fix for a 500 eur phone, but seems to be working for me thus far. I'd say worth the shot Slightly_smiling_Face

Just a followup. I haven't had a single reboot ever since. So in my case it was definitely an issue with the SIM card.
