Hello,
Recently I have bought on Ebay a device which seems to be "prototype", not one for retail market. PCC recognizes it as "Brown" device.
I have succesfulyI flashed it with latest firmware. Now I wonder if this headset is exactly same as other retail units? does it has same hardware? is it waterproof?
Thanks in advance,
Dom
You had another topic about Z ultra prototype. Why did you choose prototypes in the first place?
First I bought a Xperia Z Ultra not knowing it is prototype. Seler sold it as spare/repair. The price was realy good. Unfortunately I have hard bricked it, so I sold it for spares and still got some profit:)
Later I got an offer from same seller for Z2 and T2 Ultra at good price. They appeared to be also prototypes. Both are in mint condition, both have flashed succesfully with latest firmware. After flashing, both seems to work well. No prototype bugs/functions detected except of pop up window on fresh start up saying that this phone is prototype.
Seems now I have latest sony flagship for aprice of budget device. I intend to keep it for my self, that is why I am asking those questions, I want to know what can I expect from it.
The phone should have most of the functions that belong to the normal version of Z2,probably some last twitches are not present.Contact a staff member for more info:

The unit is more likely a pre release unit rather than a prototype. If this is the case then it'll be exactly the same as the main batch of official release devices.
We use to have this with Blackberry, basically a retail demo unit not for resale. It does however mean you'll have no warranty, but then as it's second hand that would probably be gone anyway.
Hy, I have bought one of these xperia z2 prototype, and I wonder if you still have your device and if you had problems with it.
