Hi, I have an Xperia Z1 compact and thought I'd get the biggest memory card it should work with, so now it tells me the 'phone is full and to transfer files to SD card, I did this and now the option is greyed out but it still tells me to transfer data. Also looking at memory settings it says my 'phone is still full of files! My card is a Samsung 64 EVO micro SD XC 1 I . When I bought it it said it was 10 speed, which Sony said was ok, but this card doesn't say that on it!? Help? I've tried erasing the card but still no good!? :oS (I'm feeling like a novice now as I've just moved from an iPhone!)
Format the card in the exFAT format and not NTFS which I think you have done because the card is more than 32GB
Go to Settings > Storage and let it calculate the storage.
How much is still available?
Did you install a lot of apps/games? How much is used for apps?
And how much for Pictures, videos, Audio, Downloads, Cached data and Misc.?
How do I format the SD card? I tried the delete all function on the 'phone which it seems to do, and is how Sony tell you to format it, and still no use. My old Macbook can't see the card exists when I connect it!? The phone says I have about 52GB I think (the card's not in at the moment).
Also I've only transferred photos from my 16GB iphone and it wouldn't let me transfer all my music so it can't be full!
Format the card using a low level format tool.
I'm just wondering, how can your phone tell you there is 52 GB without the SD card, when all Z1 Compacts come with only 16 GB standard?
I think your phone storage is full, not the SD card.
And regarding the speed class of SD cards, all XC cards are at least equivalent to class 10.
Did your micro SD come with a full size SD adapater?
Can you use that to put it into your Macbook?
If not, perhaps you can buy a USB adapter.
