How likely is it that the Sony Xperia Z will get an update to Android 4.4 KitKat?

Also, would such an upgrade be Sony's last to the Xperia or could the Z also possibly even see an update to the next Android version version after KitKat?

There isn't a single phone with 4.4 just yet, so the source code its not available, its too early to talk about 4.4 when 4.3 was just announced that will be available with the Xperia Z family.

I have only owned my C6503 for six weeks.

In that time it has been updated twice.

android kitkat version isn't for Xperia z???
if it is for Xperia z then when I can upgrade my android version???

The Sony Xperia Z has already been confirmed, by Sony, to be getting Android 4.3. My question relates to whether or not the Xperia Z will get an update to Android 4.4.

well for answer to kitkat 4.4 you will have to wait until sony has pushed 4.3 out so once android company itself has published 4.4 out as released then maybe and hopefully sony will post a blog saying xperia z, zr, zl will get kitkat 4.4 and more newer models as well so just wait and see

Google is trying to make Android 4.4 far far less demanding on a smartphone's resources and very backwardly compatible. For example, devices that can only just manage to run Android 4.0 ICS should be able to run Android 4.4. Does this not all the more likely mean that the Sony Xperia Z will be Android 4.4 compatible and that Sony will definitely consider upgrading it to 4.4 ?
