Why it reboot itself when the cardholder unplug?

Why it reboot itself when the cardholder unplug? It's really stupid because when I put it back (without changing the sim card), it says it needs reboot again. Stupid design.

Hi Micahel,

Welcome to the community,

All Sony Xperia devices do this, whenever the SIM holder is removed the device will restart as it could cause issues with the service being reinstated as well as possibly affecting any SD cards that use the same slot.

This is standard since I can remember, at least with Xperias that is, but don't forget to send your feedback to Sony directly >>> Local support

Well, I was intended to say "Always being stupid is not an excuse to be stupid anymore." But apparently I forgot.

Until today.

I'm using two SIM cards, one for calls and one for data and they are from different carrier (which cause all the trouble). And I wanted to change a new card for data today. How could it go wrong?

I took out the cardholder and change the SIM card. REBOOT But the phone couldn't detect the new SIM card, which turns out this Sony mobile product is very smart and it could decide the other SIM card can be used to connect Internet. So it switched data link to it. And it detects the carrier changed. REBOOT  After this reboot it detects the new SIM card and I need to activate it, so I have to manually change the data link to it. REBOOT  After this reboot it can't detect the SIM card again. Again it switched the data link. REBOOT But still it cannot detect the new SIM card, so all I can do is manually reboot. REBOOT Finally it detect the card perfectly but I still need to finish activate process, so I switch the data link to it. REBOOT And I done the activate process. Finally I got the phone on right carrier with a activated SIM card, all I need is wait 5 minutes to get Internet access, but my Sony smartphone got another idea: "Hey I can't get on Internet on this card! Why not try the old one?!". REBOOT And I have to switch it back manually. REBOOT

I could have done a lot of things while one hour trip to work. But all I can do is watched my phone rebooting, rebooting, rebooting, rebooting, manually rebooting, rebooting, rebooting, rebooting.
