On the 17th of July I purchased a Sony Xperia Z2 phone from MediaMarkt Ankara, Turkey. The microphone of the phone was not working, in other words the person on the other side of the line did not hear me. The phone was immediately returned to Media Markt Türkiye and was sent to the Service Center for replacement. The new phone was sent to me after 1.5 months (yes, literally 45 days I had to wait) and guess what, the new phone had exactly the same problem. The microphone was not working again. It was all witnessed by MediaMarkt customer service empoyees. The new phone, only an hour after its arrival was packed and sent to the Service Center. This time, the service center sent me supposedly a phone (1 months later - in an unsealed box, almost damaged outside with some weird stickers around it), and even Media Markt refused to take it.
I called Sony customer service dozens of times and they did not respond to any of my calls. I have been asking for a refund and they are refusing to refund me and they are telling me I should obtain a court decision for a refund.
I purchased a phone on the 17th of July and it is almost November and I neither have a phone nor a refund. I left a message to Sony Customer Service center again no call back.
Most bizzare company & product and customer service ever. If you insist on buying it, I am telling you, you are taking a huge risk. I am never buying anything from Sony ever again!
When you have a problem with IPHONE... Go to Apple Store and they change your phone by a new one..
My Xperia Z2 works very well (I've never tested the water proof option ^^) ... but the sony support is just a joke ...
They should carry out a replacement the way Google do. Send the replacement out, hold funds in your account until they receive your faulty device back.
Happy customer that doesn't have to be without a device for a period of time.
Apple customer service is amazing compared to Sony. You go on their website and leave your number and somebody calls you back within the minute to discuss your problem. You can also have a webchat with them regarding your issue and if that's not enough to solve the problem you can go in to an apple store and usually get a replacement phone on the spot. Sony on the other hand is a shambles. They are absolutely useless at customer services. Why should anybody have to wait over 4 weeks for a response is ridiculous.
I had the same problem with my phone taking in water, sent it back, and received a new one within 4-5 working days... which was fair enough, but massive fail on the water proof side.
whilst waiting for the new handset i went back to my old iPhone, and when the new handset arrived from Sony, I didn’t want to change back.
That having been said, I’m going to stubbornly persist with the Z2, I wanted something different, that’s why I went with Sony... but I'm struggling to justify that now.
