USB Connectivity problem - In car

Hi everyone, first post!

I picked up my new Xperia Z1 on Friday after making the switch from Iphone.  I'm delighted with the phone, everything running perfectly...with the exception of the USB hook-up to my car!

I drive an 11-plate Nissan Quashqai, with the built-in Nissan Connect entertainment system.  When using my iphone, I always plugged the phone in via the USB port & kept the Bluetooth running.  So, when driving I have access to the telephone features on the Bluetooth and the USB hook-up meant I can browse all of my music on the Connect touch-screen.  All perfect.

However, with the Xperia Z1; the Bluetooth hook-up for the phone works perfectly, but the Connect refuses to pick-up the USB!?  After looking through some help sites, I changed the USB connectivity to Mass Storage & thankfully the phone started to charge.  But I'm getting nothing on the screen, no music menu's etc.

Can I presume that Nissan Connect favours Iphone & this is about as good as I will have it with an Android phone?

Slightly disappointed because I use this feature on a daily basis.  I just want to be able to look through all my music albums etc while charging the phone in the car.

Any help much appreciated!!
