I BEEN CONTACTING SONY IN REGARDING WITH MY PROBLEM TO MY XPERIA ION WHICH I HAVE BUY ONLINE( EBAY)  I HAVE NOTICED THAT I CANT USED ANY LOCAL SIM ON IT BUT WHEN I BRING IT TO THE CELLPHONE TECHNICIAN THEY CANT UNLOCK IT TOO COZ THERE IS NO NETWORK OR NO AVAILABLE ORIGINATED THIS XPERIA ION OF MINE... I EMAILED SONY ABOUT IT AND I HAVE RECEIVED THEIR REPLIES ONLY TELLING THAT I MUST CONTACT MY LOCAL NETWORK PROVIDER ABOUT IT AND WHEN I CALL MY NETWORK (SMART BUDDY PHILIPPINES) THEY HAVE CLEARLY TOLD ME THAT ONLY SONY CAN GIVE THE UNLOCKING CODE FOR XPERIA NETWORK CODE KEY COZ NO AVAILABLE NETWORK OR NO ORIGINATED NETWORK IT HAS,,,NOW IS ANYONE HERE CAN ANSWER OR GIVE ME SOME TIP REGARDING WITH MY QUERRIES?? PLS HELP !!!

Sounds like the phone is networked locked indeed. Only the operator which the phone is locked to can provide you with a unlocking code.

I too have the same problem.Wind Canada says they mist get the code from the manufacturer Sony so who is not telling the truth?This just goes in circles. If what you say is true your network providers are hanging you out to dry and I think somebody needs their PP whacked. In the meantime so straight talk would be nice PR have I got an expensive piece of crap?
