The reason behind not receiving software update

Hi,

It's been a long time since Sony is rolling out 4.3 Updates and corrections for Xperia SP. My phone hasn't received a single notification on update. Not even "Walkman" or "Album" app updates.

I've ordered this phone from UK and I'm in India. Is this the reason?

I've tried contacting India Sony Helpline but even they have no idea.

I'm constantly checking PCC and SUS for any update notification, but in vain.

What could be the most probable reason? Anyone else facing the same issue?

Because you have UK firmware then you are repliant on the UK rules - Although not official the way it works here is that all networks must aproove the update before it can be released to generic hansets - So if just one network holds back then this will have a knock on effect to generic handsets - However you could manually flash a firmware from a different country if you feel you can't wait

Did UK carrier not approve the 4.3 update?

I don't know - All I know is that's the way it works here in the UK also to add to this release dates are also staggered so some countries receive it earlier than others

Dude don't update to 4.3 nothing is right in it.. You'll hate your phone
