The volume level for text notifications is much lower than my ringtone.

As an experiment I set the same mp3 as the ringtone and text notification sound. This confirmed that the text notification I am receiving is significantly lower than my ringtone which is set to maximum.

How can I increase this volume level?

Affected by this annoying bug, when the Z2 is in my pocket I hear nothing

After much playing around this isn't just affecting my notification but also my ringtone volume.

Sometime the notification doesn't sound at all, especially if I'm using the phone at the time.

I have noticed that enviroment and what I'm doing affects the volume. I'm assuming that there is some kind of proximity based volume that is not working as it should.

I'm also affected by this. Low volume on both ringtone and notification. I'd also like to say that I would prefer the ability to set my sms notification sound apart from my regular notifications.

That would especially be handy if I could hear them in the first place..

Worked for me, and my D6503 on 17.1.A.2.69.

Bring on the update that fixes this issue properly!

Now to find a fix on how to assign a sound file to the Countdown Timer...

I'm having the same problem, where the volume is set as high as it can be and saved, when a text comes in there is no volume at all

Yes I have the same problem. And actually it affects:
-Notifications.
-Ring tone.
-Music player.
Sometimes they are just fine and loud, and from the other hand they sometimes sound like a **bleep**..
This is very annoying.
I don't hear my notifications, and yesterday I compared my music with Z1 and the Z1 was much louder knowing when I compared them after few hours Z2 was louder.
Sony has to stop this attitude and they should go run and find a fix now.. I have not paid almost 900 dollars to get this crap..
