Xperia C might not have backup support in PCC.Use myphone explorer.

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

In regards to the internal memory, you may need to check the storage to see what is using the memory.

Menu > Settings > Storage

This will tell you what type of data is using up the storage. I also suggest removing any applications you no longer use, this will help clear space.

In order to backup sms from Android to computer, I'd like to advise a tool android mobile manager,  you can back and restore your sms and edit or manage them on your PC.
