Sounds like you may have a USB port issue - I'd check the pins aren't damaged however you can either return it to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care for your country http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

The pins seems ok, im gentle when it comes to pluggin in charger and all that!. Just a shame as im really happy with the rest of the phone.
I just tried the docking cable to charge, the phone charges for a few seconds and then stops and then continues again in a cycle.
Seems my phone is a bit poorly.
