I just got the Xperia Z2. On the first day I was able to take photos and from within the camera app navigate to the photo I wanted and a little paintbrush icon would appear on the bottom left of the photo. This allowed me to edit the photo with an awesome app that had these effects that when you pressed the effect button it would apply scroll trhough 2-4 variations of that effect.
I have subsequently done a firmware update and now that I can't access that functionality any more. Now when I go into the camer app and navigate to the image the paintbrush icon doesn't appear. Instead the "landscape-rectangle-with-a-pencil-in-the-right-corner" appears on the bottom right. And when this is pressed it asks which photo app you want to use. I have tried all of these but none of them is that original app I used. The default photo editing ability within Album now offers static filters without the variations.
Am I missing some other way to access this app/functionality or has it been removed with the firmware update?
What app were you using before? On Z1 there are several apps for editing: Sketch,Pixlr,Google photos and album.
That's just the thing: since the firmware update I need to select an app. Before I wouldtake the photo, and from within the camera app go to the gallery, select the image and that paintbrush would just appear on the bottom left. Now when i do that I need to select an app to edit with with that Photo Editing button (rectangular thingy) and i have tried all the bundled apps and none of them are the same. Has the default Photo editing app been changed recently?
