My Sony SP has completely died. Was using when it had full charge, screen goes black and thats it, doesnt respond to attempted reboots and when I try to charge it. It doesnt emit any lights or sounds to anything I try to do.

Have other people had the same problem, what is the likely cost of repair going to be and is there anything I can do myself?

I suggest that you remove the back cover on your Xperia SP. Here you can find a force OFF button, press down this button with a paper clip e.g for about 5-10 seconds to see if your phone reacts.
