Pc companion freeze

I try to setup my wifi connection thru pc companion on my xperia zr. The program freezes when i get to the step where iam going to connect with cable....

There be a lot of reasons for this, however the first thing to do is try the connection on another USB port and update the version of Java you have on your PC:

Java is up to date and I have tried different usb ports. Running Windows 8.1. I have tried running program in win 7 compatible mode etc, with no luck.

Unfortunatley the problem here is Windows 8.1 as we currently do not support it. Do you have access to a PC running anything from Windows XP to Windows 8?

Hi a_viorel and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

We do support Windows 8.1 now; however if you are getting an error regarding incompatible OS version then you likely have the handset connected to a USB 3.0 port, please try connecting to another port.
