Not showing text messages

I have an Xperia 10 mini pro and am having extreme difficulty with text messages. Basically when someone sends me a text message, I can see the first part of it on the screen that shows the various text conversations that I am having with people BUT when I click on that particular conversation, the text message isn't there. To give an example, my husband and I have been texting a lot tonight and I have the text conversation up to about 2 hours ago, but none of the messages since then are visible (although the first line of the last one he sent to me is visible on the main text message screen). Sorry, I don't know if I am explaining this properly but if anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate help. Thank you!

I assume you have fiddled around with all the text settings?  I'm sure I saw a thread on here about when the mini deletes messages, ie does it ever.  I don't have the mini so I can't answer your question directly, but does the Handcent SMS app work on the mini (free from market?) because its a great little app, very customisable. 

If you don't get any other answers, you could always try a repair on the PC Companion Support/Update section just in case your phone has a software glitch.  Part of the joy of having the conversation style SMS is being able to go back and look to see what you've been 'chatting' about.
