Has anyone else experienced Netflix audio sync issues with their device? I've had to disable my membership as i was going to use it primiarily with this phone, but its impossible to enjoy watching whilst the audio is about 0.5 seconds out of sync.

Have you spoken with them directly regarding thier application as this is more likely an app issue that a phone issue?

I have the same issue with my Z2 phone. I've used numerous devices with Netflix and it's only my Sony Z2 phone that has an issue.
Check the Netflix reviews, it only appears to be Sony devices that have this problem. Sony and Netflix are fully aware but refuse to comment.
I have the same problem with my new xperia z2 very frustrating went from my nexus 4 with no problems to major audio/video sync problems with this phone. Tryed reinstalling the app and reseting my phone but nothing works. Please fix soon!
