Yesterday I was swimming and had my phone at the poolside... obviously it got wet but I didn't immediately dry it out or anything. It wouldn't turn on - when pressing the screen unlock/power button it just vibrated three times. When I eventually got home I used the force off button behind the back cover and then powered the phone back up. But the battery is behaving oddly. One second it says I have 40%, the next 44, the next 38 etc. I have no idea how much battery life I actually have, but it doesn't seem to be charging when plugged in, so I guess even without use and in stamina mode it'll die shortly.
I tried a factory reset and a system restore but neither fixed the battery issue, so I'm guessing something inside the phone is wet. What can I do? Is there any way at all of removing the battery? I did download the xperia service test app from play store and it told me my battery is healthy, but clearly it can't be.
Forgot to add - sometimes it just turns off without warning and I get the triple vibrate thing.
All advice appreciated...

I'm sorry to hear about this accident.
I believe your phone still have or had some moisture inside that has now started to corrode. This can cause the phone to act very strange and unfortunately there not much you can do in this state.
I suggest that you turn it off, remove the back cover and leave it to dry fro a couple of days. then check if you notice any improvement.
