Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone else has managed to get their Z2 to output at 4K over MHL?
I've got a Sony 4K television, an MHL cable, and Sony Z2, and yet I can 'only' get 1080p.
Any advice / help appreciated!
MHL has two type - The low end can't do data transfer ie:USB 3.0 - If your cable is a USB3.0 then it should be capable of data transfer of 600 Mbps where as the cheaper versions use USB2.0 with speeds of 75 Mbps which isn't enough thus the quality is downgraded
Ok, that's great - thank you.
I've just bought this cable as it seems to satisfy the data transfer speeds required -

Does that sound right to you?
That's a micro HDMI to HDMI - So it would be able to handle the speed requirments but it's not for the Z2 you'll still need a converter from USB to HDMI
It has nothing to do with USB 3.0 standards. It has to do with using a MHL 3.0 cable (which doesn't exist yet, that I know of) as well as having a 4k TV be able to accept MHL 3.0 input - again, I am not aware of any right now. Please read the discussion in the comments area of this link to see what I mean.
I recently purchased a SONY Z2......i want to conect the phone to my Pioneer APP radio (NEX 4000) using MHL MirrorLink.
Would the MHL 3.0 cable work......or would i need the usual 5 pin MHL adapter.
