Make new album

I can't find out how i can make a new album for pictures. And how i can shoose where i want to save different files og tre device.

You will need either a File Manager or connect your phone to a PC > create a new folder 

to see it

album > My albums > Camera albums or internal storage

There isn’t o way in most default application to make them save files to a particular folder created yourself. You can create folders but you would have to manually move the files after the fact.

How do you create a new album?

I have tried dragging and dropping a folder from a finder window on my mac into the bridge for mac window, it just give the message 'copy 0 file to pictures/dcim/100andro' or whatever other folder I'm trying to put the new folder in.

Is there a way I can create folders on the phone?

I have the Xperia Z1

If you are having problems creating a folder through a computer you may want to look at  a file manager application such as File Commander from the Playstore so that you can create/manage folders on the phone itself.

Seems a bit lazy not to have an 'add album' button. Instead we have to download a 3rd party app and create a folder? I have trouble trying to explain to my mother what the app store is, let alone download a file manager and create a new folder somewhere in amongst the mess that is the Android folder structure.

Come on Sony, you're a giant meida corporation, all that effort into the Album app and the 'album' function is basically useless...

They removed the built -in option a few weeks ago (on my Z1). The albums were called collections and you could make them, name them and add photos into whichever one you wanted then choose to view photos only in that collection. It could all be done using the album app and was so simple to use even I figured out how to do it! Why Sony removed it I don't know but I wish they would bring it back.

So uhm, i found a way to make albums or folders, go to the folders menu and then you see folders with the pictures you saved from facebook, messenger etc, go to the folder where you have a picture that you want to put in a new folder, long tap as many pictures as you want then tap the 3 dots at the upper right corner and you will see an option 'move to' and you'll be able to choose whether you want to put your pictures in an existing folder or a new one, just tap the plus sign and you can make a new folder
