There seems to be a lot of debate about the use of fast chargers and whether the benefits outway the perceived risks.
From what I have read the Sony supplied Z2 charger is 1.5A and many have suggested a faster charge (less time) can be gained through the use of a 2 or 2.1A charger.
The debate on this front appears to be around the safety in doing this (battery and phone health) and the true charge given when the process is hurried up.
I have read commentary suggesting the fast chargers do indeed reduce the time for battery charge... but because it is done in such a short time the battery doesn't really get a chance to 'absorb' the energy effectively and will therefore discharge faster than normal. Is this true??????
Other bad comments suggest it may ultimately affect the health of the phone and the battery. (Heat generated during fast charge, and or higher Amperage, or the fact the battery isn't getting a real charge but lots of short zaps???)
So, the jury is out... Is the benefits greater than the risk??? Anyone with REAL electronics knowledge please weigh in.
Lastly, can the IPAD 10watt charger safely charge the Z2?.
It is rated 2.1A and 5.1Volts. I quickly plugged it in and the phone started charging... so okay on this front. BUT I stopped for fear the '.1' in the rating (Volts and Amps) may be a threat to my new phone.
Thanks

Using a non standard charger ie: Too many amps or a higher voltage can damage your phone especially the Volts - Higher amps although will charge your phone faster will decrease the life span of the battery
