There's probably another issue not the music/walkman app but another app creating this issue.
This is what I would do.
Repair the phone with PCC > do NOT sync anything > don't auto update nor auto download any app > update the walkman app > Music > check if it works, if it does > start downloading apps > until you find the culprit.
