Disconnecting Wi-Fi

My Sony Xperia Z1 seems to 'disconnect' from my home wi-fi every time I stop using it or put it into standby mode. It tells me that it's connected but in actual fact it doesn't work and I have to manually disconnect & reconnect. This is a real pain as every time I want access to wi-fi quickly, my phone has forgotten it was connected to the network & it takes an age.
Any solutions? They would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.:)

In wi-fi settings, you have an option to keep wi-fi on during sleep.

Thanks, but I've already got that turned on… I've tried all the options in wi-fi settings but nothing seems to work… 😕

Stamina is definitely off. Are there are any antiviruses or task killers which aren't obvious in settings?

No,those are usually installed by the user.Sometimes they come preinstalled also.
