Charging Xperia M from 12V outlet in my car

Why can't I charge my Xperia M from the 12V outlet in my car? It works OK for all oll other devices including my older SonyEricsson Xperia phone.

5V is the max voltage these batteries should be exposed to.

I have same problem with charger on my motorbike my Xperia M wont charge, I didnt have this problem with my old Xperia Tipo, Xperia M does however charge fine in my car, maybe the car charger you are using is the problem
