Casting to chromecast on xperia Z2

My chromecast app is not showing a 'cast screen' option when I call up the menu. It seems that the Z2 is not supported yet by google? does enyone know anything about this or have a workaround, particularly for apps which don't have a chromecast button?

Google only supports casting the screen on a few devices at the moment but they say they're working on adding support for more. See this page for more information and supported devices: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6059461?hl=en

I'm not aware of any workaround i'm afraid.
