Hi,
I've tried searching but haven't found anyone else with this problem, so thought that someone has a solution here.
I have recently updated at 4.2.2, and found that my phone vibrates with every notification I receive. I'm happy for my phone to vibrate when it calls or I receive a SMS, MMS etc, but I dont want it to vibrate when I receive an email, or facebook notification etc.
I've even turned off "vibrate when ringing" setting in settings->sound->vibrate when ringing, and it still vibrates.
Before, I just unchecked the "vibrate" setting in each app settings (gmail and facebook), but it still vibrates when a notification comes in even if it's set not to vibrate for this application.
As I receive a lot of emails, it's driving me up the wall. I've tried everything, factory reset, and it still happens!
Is there some setting that I'm overlooking, or is there an app which can fix this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance or light you can shed on this matter!

You can go into each app to turn off vibration for the notifications. For example. Go to email > menu button > settings > press your account > notification settings > uncheck vibration. You can do the same with Facebook and most apps.

Hi Alexander.
as stated in my post, I've already tried this, and it doesn't work.
you have to look into each app and turn it off
I've got the same problem and I cannot turn off vibration from within email app. Vibration is unchecked there. I also noticed that it only happens when the phone is on vibration as a whole. If the volume is on then email app would just play sound and would not vibrate.
Are we the only two in the world with this problem?
Yes and no.
I can't turn the vibration ON!!
I got the same problem, I first had a samsung s3 with the same problem, which started when it got updated to 4.2.2.
Now with my z1 compact, also running 4.2.2 it's the same problem.
There is no way to fix it from the looks of it, only to turn off vibrations completly, but that is far from ideal.
Hey dude!
If your mob has got android version 4.3, log on to ur facebook profile & navigate to settings>app settings to uncheck vibrate option from the left most panel of screen
To do the same for gmail, log on to your mail box, choose settings and ther you would see vibrate uncheck option.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Ben
