After only having my Z3 for about a month I dropped it face down on tile floor. Not only was the screen cracked but my screen wouldn't work. I took it to be repaired but the only thing they could do was fix the cracked glass. The phone works perfectly fine (still vibrates, rings, and charges) but the screen only shows a dark blue light when I turn it on. I spent a lot of money on this phone and I don't know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem/been able to get it fixed? Or should I just sell it for parts at this point?
I'm sorry to hear that but that doesn't make sense as the Digitizer/touchscreen its glued to the LCD, in other words, if they repaired the digitizer they replaced the LCD as well, you should contact your Local support again.
I'll try contacting them, but this was a few months ago and I doubt they'll remember. It was just a cellphone repair shop. They replaced the screen for free since they couldn't get the phone to work.
I'm going to give the place a call tomorrow and I'll post their response here. I didn't think to send it to an authorized Sony place because I thought it was just a cracked screen. Honestly I'm probably just going to sell it for parts at this point.
Hi @Snuflez
Welcome to the community.
To add to what @uliwooly said, your Local support team will at least be able to point you in the direction of an authorised service agent.
What can do to unlock the phone to extract or backup any data on your device is use a USB On The Go (OTG) cable to plug a mouse into the handset and bring up a cursor you can use to navigate the menus.
