is there any chance Sony will let us download updates manually instead of using the buggy PC Companion application on PC?

PC Companion is very fiddly because if there's any confusion or error anywhere, it completely prevents you from restoring or updating your phone.

I have seen different downloads of 14.6.A.1 around the web, but none of it is genuine / straight from Sony. I'm specifically looking for 14.6.A.1 for C6903 (netherlands model)

Highly unlikely, you can use Bridge for Mac as well, or OTA updates

Thank you for the reply, but that doesn't solve my problem.

The way that PC Companion verifies the phone is flawed, meaning if you REALLY need to fix the phone, PC Companion will likely refuse to install any update on it or restore it because it can't make the decision to which version of the update I need and for which exact model and for which cellular brand and region.

Maybe it should have a manual option where you pick from a list of available downloads to force install it on your phone.

Thanks, I didn't know that Sony people don't use this forum, I have now emailed Sony about this issue.
Do you know of any unofficial ways of obtaining .tft files of specific builds?
