Whatsapp Icon Count

Hello,

I downloaded whatsapp messenger on my Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra, but the number of unread messages doesn't appear on the icon (the same goes for the messenger). But it's working on facebook (I can see the number of notifications on the icon) 

Can someone help me to resolve this issue? Thank you

Are you able to advise if you are using a custom theme from the Play Store? 

Are you using a custom home launcher? The reason I ask this is that some Home launchers do not allow all applications to show notification numbers on the short cut's if that is the case, I would suggest contacting the developer of the launcher and requesting it be added.

If you check the forums you will notice that this is a common problem , I am facing it as well. The Whatsapp badge does not appear or work. The same is working for Facebook and Messenger. No custom launcher installed , I am using the one that is native to the phone. Location is turned on and Whatsapp app  has all necessaary permissions as well.
