z2 tablet. video playback.

z2 tablet. video playback.

When playing films on this tablet. The movies pause every 5 minutes even with the screen save set at 30min.

This is whilst playing back on google play.

Is it a google play thing, or a tablet thing....?

Do all movies pause on your tablet? (e.g. files or using Netflix, Youtube etc.)

Also are the movies pausing or actually buffering?

Depending on your answers it can eliminate problems such as software or internet speed / connection issues.

Was nothing to do with buffering as they were downloaded.

So far has only been google play movies, and I player thou, as most thing's that have been watched are short Facebook, u tube clips etc....

Someone Else has suggested that there may be an app running at the same time which is causing the issue.

I seem to be the only user that has this issue thou, and there are no apps that are not mainstream on there. Just a few game's, and the usual social media stuff.....

@steviecoles28 Great - so the streaming is fine.

Next question is what do you play mp4, avi files etc. with?

I have had no problems with that on the Tablet Z.

 

Last question is have you always had this problem since purchase?

(If not it may be worth you considering backing up all your files / data from the tablet and then doing a reset.)

 

I bought it for my missus for Xmas, as of yet we haven't really done much with it.

I really need to sit down with it and find what is causing the issue.

I'm not sure it's ready for a factory reset yet....

No problem....if you contact Sony support they will more than likely advise you to reset anyway.

 

Did you actually try the VLC app?
