Connecting a Sony Tablet S to a VGA device

Hiya Guys

Do you know if there is any way I can connect a Sony Tablet S to a VGA device?  e.g: A projector?

Evening Faith

Sadly not. There is a lot of talk about other devices having this ability but to put it simply, it has not been included on the Tablet. Maybe it is something that is possible on a firmware update (maybe micro USB to HDMI?)

At the moment, the USB is only being used for data transfer and from reports, larger HDD's around the 500GB mark and larger are having troubles as the USB not a full power port as you get on a PC. Not sure what that will mean for future development but will be interesting to keep an eye on.

HiYa Faith,

Unfortunately any solution is not simple as the only way to stream video output is by WiFi.

Either: -

1.  If the projector is 'wireless' you can connect 'ad-hoc'.

2.  If the projector is on a network where you are presenting, you can possibly join that network and connect.

3.  The expensive version is to buy a wireless access point with a VGA output - something like this: -

Someone else may have some other ideas but these are the only ones I can think of unless the lecture theatre has a networked TV.

EDIT: Sorry, got caught on the phone and missed Watashiwateshdes' excellent reply - too slow again!!

Here are some more devices that will work but they cost more than the Tablet S!!!

Hey, Honey

Thanks so much for replying, a couple of things in there that I could look into.

I always carry my own projector, learnt a long time ago, never trust where you are presenting has a working one lol

So, might have to indulge in a nice new shiny wireless projector

Cheers x
