WH-1000XM4 battery

I recently bought a pair of WH-1000XM4 headphones and love them to bits but I am concerned about battery life. I have run many tests, with Adaptive Sound Control on and off, ANC on and off, etc. but cannot get much more than 18 hours of battery life between full charge and low battery warning out of them. Is this normal? How much life do you get out of them?

The battery life very much depends on the volume you're listening with.

I would say 18h is absolutely normal.

Besides, the more bells and whistles you have on, reduces the battery life also.

The manual shows examples of battery life and explains it.

Thanks Peter, I do tend to have them quite loud so that makes sense. I assumed that their figure was optimistic, 18 hours compared to 30+ seems quite a large difference but it'll do.

Thanks RottenFoxBreath, I did some testing with Ambient Sound and ANC turned off but it didn't make much difference. Oh well, I can live with 18 hours of use.
